Bordeleau Park
There were some challenges to overcome… an inner city park, some negative social behaviour keeping park users away, a splash pad adjacent the Rideau River with no sewer outlet to connect to and a limited water supply….
The water playground is set within a grove of shade trees adjacent grassy slopes perfect for sunbathing, the elevated splash pad drains to a granular sump down “waterfall steps” and under a bridge. And a very stationary turtle along the way reminds us that water and the river are precious resources and home for other life.
