The Greenboro Children's Centre opened its doors in 1989; Ottawa’s first free-standing 'purpose designed' child care centre to be sponsored by a Community Board of a Non-Profit… the play yard eventually reached the end of it’s lifespan and we started our work on this long narrow site with some challenging topography…

The renewal design focused on natural play and despite Ministry restrictions on water play, we managed to deliver a series of interactive water channels and troughs that drained away at the end of play time. A “play mound” with a slide and large sand box, green tunnel, trike ciruit, loggy play huts and planters for growing things engage young children and provide a stage for teachers to deliver their nature-based curriculum.
